With over 40 years experience in the cultivation and commercialization of avocados, Don Joaquin Barragan, was the first to begin growing Hass avocados in the Uruapan area. Today, Uruapan is known all over the world as, "The Avocado Capital of the World", producing over 2.5 billion pounds annually.
